The Story So Far…

The Timekeepers, a group of eccentric inventors, activated a machine known as the Chronotron. No one can quite remember what it does, but everyone knows it changed everything. Now, strange occurrences are taking place, and people from the past, present, and beyond are gathering to uncover the truth about the Chronotron’s malfunction.

That’s where you come in. As a volunteer, you’ll take on the role of one of the mysterious characters who’s vital to solving this steampunk enigma. You’ll interact with festival-goers, share your character’s backstory, and help unlock the secrets hidden within the town of Nimmitabel. But the full story?

Even you won’t know that until Sunday afternoon when the mystery comes to its dramatic conclusion.

    The Steampunkers' Oath of Secrecy (Formerly known as the Pinky Swear):

    By the decree of the esteemed Timekeepers and the order of the Chronotron, all those who take up the mantle of character within Nimmitabel must abide by the laws of silence and intrigue.

    I solemnly swear, by the binding of pinky fingers and the trust of all Steampunkers before me, that:

    I shall not reveal the mysteries of Nimmitabel to any outsider, lest they unravel the delicate threads of time.
    I shall keep my role and story within the festival a closely-guarded secret, to maintain the wonder and surprise for all who visit.
    I shall embrace the spirit of play, discovery, and steampunk curiosity, and ensure that the festival's story unfolds through the experiences of the attendees, not the whispers of volunteers.

    By locking virtual pinky fingers and swearing this oath, I commit myself to secrecy and uphold the sanctity of the Steampunkers’ tale.
